From 13th to 17th November 2017, FUIS made its first appearance at the World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO) in Geneva. WIPO is part of the United Nations, where government representatives from 191 countries discuss the international copyright framework. FUIS joins the International Authors Forum at WIPO, and is now accredited as a non-governmental organisation (NGO) with observer status at the Standing Committee of Copyright and Related Rights (SCCR). This means FUIS can attend the meetings of this Committee and represent the rights and interests of Italian writers in global copyright discussions.

The subjects being discussed within copyright internationally are: limitations and exceptions to copyright, and broadcasting organisations. The links go to more information about these topics, available on WIPO’s website.

FUIS made statements during the Committee meetings, giving its opinion on the subjects. Read the statements using links below: View from World Intellectual Property Organisation in Geneva
